Prototypes are clickable models of a website or application that let you test structure, design, and functions realistically—before the actual development begins. They make concepts tangible, reveal optimization potential, and ensure everyone involved shares the same picture of the end product. This minimizes risk and creates confidence for implementation.

Prototypes come in different levels of detail—from a quick scribble to an interface that’s almost final. Depending on the project phase, goal, and audience, different types are used:

• Paper prototype (low-fidelity):
  A simple, often hand-drawn visualization of the core idea. Perfect for early feedback on structure, user flow, and logic—without design effort.
• Wireframe prototype (low to mid-fidelity):
  Structures the content and shows how users navigate through the application. Focus: function, not look.
• Clickable prototype (mid-fidelity):
  First interactions are simulated to test usability and flow. Ideal for user tests and targeted optimization.
• High-fidelity prototype (hi-fi):
  Visually and functionally very close to the final product—incl. branding, colors, and typography. Often used for internal alignment or client presentation.
• Functional prototype (code-based / interactive prototype):
  The most technically advanced prototype—already built with real code. Used to test logic, animations, or integrations realistically.

A clearly defined prototype saves time, costs, and misunderstandings—and ensures design decisions are based on real user experiences.

User flows show the logical path users take through an application—step by step from entry to goal. Wireframes, on the other hand, visualize that structure as layout sketches: they show where content, navigation, and functions are placed on individual screens. Together, they form the foundation for a clear and user-friendly website.

Prototyping pays off for any project where user guidance, design, and functionality are critical—such as websites, web platforms, or apps. It’s especially useful for complex structures or new ideas that need testing before implementation. This creates early clarity on whether a concept works and where adjustments are needed.

We primarily work with Figma because it’s perfect for user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes—and makes collaboration easy. In addition, we use tools like Miro for analysis, workshops, and mapping.

We run usability tests remotely or in live sessions with real users. We observe how they use prototypes, where they get stuck, and which steps feel intuitive. For testing, we use Figma to evaluate click paths, feedback, and behavior precisely. This gives us concrete insights that flow directly into optimization.
